Business of the Month

Chasm Architecture, LLC

Nathaniel ClarkLocated on East Cleveland Ave., in the historic Buggy Works building (close to the East Point MARTA Station), Chasm Architecture is a full service architecture and interior design firm.

The owner, Mr. Nathaniel O. Clark, chose East Point as their corporate headquarters because it is located in close proximity to downtown Atlanta and the Airport. The location allows them to meet clients, both in and out of state, without the hassles of negotiating heavy traffic. In addition, the loft design of their historic space, with its heavy timber construction and brick interior walls, offers a nice aesthetic for their staff and clients.

They currently have offices in three additional diverse markets; New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Nashville. Each office focuses on K-12, Higher Education, Corporate Architecture and Branding, edical Office Buildings, Interiors and Master Planning. Chasm consistently designs quality buildings which add value to our client’s architectural experience. “We consider ourselves a design firm and have recently completed the design of a multi-million dollar Collegiate Living Development for Albany State University. This project is under construction and was designed in collaboration with LAS. We are a 100% minority owned firm but we are Architects first and offer excellent service to anyone looking for a phenomenal architectural experience”, says Clark.

Chasm Architecture compliments the business community of East Point by serving as a mentor for several youth who are considering Architecture as their profession of choice. “African Americans represent less than 1% of the licensed Architects in America and it is important to be available to our youth who are interested in the built environment”, says Clark. Each year Chasm visits a local school and offers a high school senior an internship with them. “This experience provides that young professional, an advantage that I never had when I was considering my professional path. In most cases, all one needs is an opportunity. We will continue to offer these types of opportunities for our youth”, says Clark.

“I am often asked, “Why the name Chasm?” …Well, if you visit our website you’ll find an explanation of our existence, that will, hopefully, encourage you to join us as we endeavor to grow as a top tier architectural firm within this growing community”, says Clark.

Chasm Architecture strongly supports the Arts and Nathaniel is a published poet and is recognized for his Spoken Word.
