East Point Cycle & KeyJR Jenkins (Bob) originally opened the business in Hapeville in 1946, but later when then business burned he purchased a building on White Way in Downtown East Point (where Thumbs Up Dinner is today) to start over. He liked East Point so much that he moved his family here in 1964.

East Point Cycle & Key sold and repaired lawnmowers and Schwinn bicycles, had a hobby shop, as well as, offered locksmith services. Many people have fond memories spending time as a child at the hobby shop looking at the model airplanes and slot cars.

Jim and his brother remember their mom, Margaret, driving them around in the family truck picking up and delivering lawnmowers for service. Every Christmas Eve, Bob could be found delivering bicycles so children would wake up to find their favorite Schwinn under the Christmas tree.

In January 1972 the locksmith and lawnmower divisions needed more room and were relocated to the current Church Street building.

In the nineties Jim and his wife Nancy purchased the locksmith and bicycle divisions of the business. They enjoyed the bicycle business, but over the years choose to specialize in the locksmith industry.

They now service commercial, industrial, institutional and residential locksmith needs. They also sell and repair home, business and gun safes.

A little known fact is that their building on Church Street was originally a commercial laundry facility.
