Main Street BoardDesignated as a Georgia Main Street City in 1999, the City of East Point has embraced the Main Street philosophy by making deliberate steps in the revitalization process. The City passed a resolution to adopt a Main Street Board of Directors to work with the Main Street Coordinator to fulfill the goals and objectives of the program. Nine citizens were appointed by the Mayor and City Council members to serve as the Main Street Board of Directors who focus on developing and implementing ideas and initiatives that improve the downtown district. Board members serve 4 year terms. This is an all volunteer board who donates their valuable time to work toward making Downtown East Point the successful, thriving heart of the city it is on track to be. The board consists of business owners, community stake holders and professionals who have a commitment to downtown.
