GMC Uplifting Entertainment

Charles Humbard
Charles Humbard, Founder & CEO

GMC, located in the historic Wagon Works Building, opened its doors in East Point in October of 2004. GMC is a 24 hour cable and satellite TV network committed to entertain, uplift and inspire. They pride themselves on delivering high quality faith and family friendly values programming.

GMC chose East Point because it is strategically located near the airport, centrally located to their employee base and they love the quaint small town at-mosphere next to a big city.

GMC is available in more than 51 million homes around the country, including locally on DISH Network (Channel 188) and DIRECTV (Channel 338) and Comcast Cable (Channel 189). GMC’s programming consists of diverse content including GMC World Premiere Movies, Gospel Plays, Original Series, Music Specials and more.

GMC’s World Premiere Original Movie titles have included the recent Heart of Christmas, starring Candace Cameron Bure, George Newbern, Bur-gess Jenkins, Matthew West and Sophia Sinise, as well as, Trinity Goodheart, starring Eric Benet, Erica Gluck and James Hong. Upcoming World Pre-miere Originals include A Cross To Bear, with Kim Fields; Brother White, starring David A. R White, Jackee Harry, Reginald VelJohnson and a special appearance by Bebe Winans.

GMC is the only network to showcase gospel plays and has made its mark with the widely popular gospel play series, “She’s Still Not Our Sister.”

GMC is the world’s leading producer of original gospel/Christian music television and is the home to the two preemi-nent award shows in Christian/Gospel music: The GMA Dove Awards, the Stellar Awards, as well as, the annual GMC Music Video Awards spotlighting the year’s top Gospel and Christian music videos as voted by fans.

GMC is committed to out-reach in their hometown community. Recent outreach included singing and bringing gifts to Bonterra Nursing Home and adopting local families during the holidays to ensure they experienced an enjoyable holiday.

A little known fact about GMC is that their Founder and CEO, Charley Humbard, is the son of the country’s first television minister, Rex Humbard.
